Mini Weekend Shopping Haul

Sunday 31 March 2013

Hi everyone! I have done a bit of shopping this weekend, and I thought I would share with you what I got as I got a couple of bargains!
MMM Shopping Things :)
I firstly went into Superdrug and got 2 things. The first being the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair. This is my holy grail concealer, and I needed to repurchase it, as the one I have at the moment is shade 2 which is the slightest bit dark for me, as that was the only one in stock last time. This was reduced from £4.19 to £3.69 on offer.
I then went on to buy the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser as it was half price to £2.99 instead of £5.99. This has been out of stock for weeks in my local Superdrug so when I went out with family to a further shopping centre, I found it and couldn’t leave it there. You also get the muslin cloth with it, which gently exfoliates the skin. This smells great too!

I went to Lush and picked up the all famous Happy Hippy Shower Gel for £3.25 as I haven’t owned it before, but tried it and loved it. The smell is so fresh and I can’t believe I hadn’t bought it sooner! I did go to purchase this before Christmas but the price was £4.25 which I wasn’t prepared to pay for 100g of product, but it’s back to normal now and was in my basket in a flash!
Finally I went to the Body Shop, as I spotted that they had a sale on over a few products. One of them being the Sweet Lemon Shower Gel, which was £2 instead of £5, so I picked it up as there were only 2 left. I know, I know, buying 2 shower gels in one trip may be a little excessive, but one was on sale, and the other was in a store that isn’t anywhere near me, so I have an excuse…haha.
So overall I made a total saving of: £6.50! Not bad in my opinion!
Have you done any shopping recently? If you found any bargains let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading, don’t forget to follow me on GFC, Bloglovin’ (Buttons to the right) and twitter: www.twitter.com/thebeaubow - Tweet me anything you like! J

SheerCover Introductory Kit (Overview)

Saturday 30 March 2013

Hi everyone! SheerCover has been talked about on the likes of QVC, and used by many makeup artists, day to day, and for events such as Britains Got Talent and X Factor. I have never heard anyone talking/raving about them in the blogosphere though. I recently recieved this in the post, and I thought it would be great to give you all an overview of all the products in the kit, and then I will upload various posts of each induvidual product in more depth. So, enough rambling, here are the products. (WARNING - Picture and Text heavy! :))
Everything included in the kit.
Studio Foundation Brush and Studio Concealer Brush
The packaging for these brushes is so pretty! A lilac/pink metallic and glass handle is something I swooned over when I opened the box. The softness is average, but I think it is because I am so used to my super-duper soft Real Techniques brushes.
Base Perfection Primer
This primer is really nice, and when I used it I found that it gave me a very glowy look to my skin. I do agree that it does what I claims on the bottle, mainly minimising pores, I'm a teenager so 'fine lines' aren't exactly my problem.
Duo Concealer ink Light/Medium
This concealer is actually really good coverage and thick, but not drying, or not greasy. It's pretty good if you ask me! There is a lighter slightly pink toned one and a darker yellow toned one. Lots of things in this kit are designed to be mixed, to make sure that everything can match your skintone.
Sophisticate face palette.
This palette comes with a blush, 2 lip glosses, and 4 eye shadows. They are all great, not all of them are colours I would normally choose, but they are great nevertheless! I will keep you waiting until the review to show you the colours.
Mineral Foundation in Nude and Bisque
I have always wanted to try a mineral foundation, so I was excited about this. The coverage given is light/medium, so I would recommend a concealer too. It gives a really glowing finish though, it isn't drying in the slightest. The colours are a little dark for me, but I'm hoping to secure myself a tan this non-existent summer.
Extra Length Mascara in Black/Brown
I am a mascara addict, and I have to restrain myself from buying loads of them when I am shopping. This one looks really cool, perfect for a handbag touch-up kind of product. The wand is really nice, and when I use this I find it to really separate and lengthen my lashes.

So, that is everything in the kit! It costs £39.99 for www.sheercover.co.uk which I think is a pretty good deal for 6 products and 2 brushes! :)

Thanks for reading, I hope you have a great Easter! Don't forget to follow via GFC and Bloglovin' (buttons to the right) and also Twitter! - www.twitter.com/thebeaubow

Hi everyone, I saw this TAG on Megan's Blog - The Beauty Pier, and I thought it was a lovely post to write. I tag all of you, so if you see this and want to do it, say I tagged you! I think this is a silly tag for me to do as I am so indecisive, but I'll give it a go!
Makeup:
Blush or Bronzer? Blush, but I do love a good ol' contour.
Lipgloss or Lipstick? Lipstick, sticky lips is not my thing.
Liner or Mascara? You can't see my eyes without mascara, so I'll go with that haha!
Foundation or Concealer? I suppose faoundation, only if the foundation was Revlon Colourstay, otherwise concealer. I like/need me coverage!
Neutral Eyeshadow or Colour? Neutral, Urban Decay Naked 2 is my baby!
Pressed or loose eyeshadow? Pressed. I spill loose ones wat too easily.
Nails:
OPI or China Glaze? I only own OPI so that, but I am getting some China Glaze soon!
Long or Short Nails? Medium (what a rebel I am!)
Acrylic or Natural? Natural!
Brights or Darks? Depends on season, but at the moment,  I love the brights.
Flower or No Flower? No flower.
Perfume or Body Splash? Perfume, as long as it isn't overpowering.
Lotion or Body Butter? Butter is my favourite!
Body Wash or Soap? Body Wash.
Lush or other bath company? LUSH! I recently bought happy hippy and I'm in love! But, can we please please get a Bath and Body Works in the UK?!

Jeans or Sweat Pants? Jeans! But if I am feeling lazy I like leggings and joggers.
Long Sleeve or Short Sleeve? Short.
Dresses or skirts? Dresses! I want to get some more though. I do loved skater skirts though.
Stripes or Plaid? Stripes! I do love feeling all 'Burberry' in plaid though.
Flip Flops or Sandals? Sandals. They make my feet look more elegant than they really are.
Scarves or Hats? Scarves.
Studs or Dangly Earrings? I think studs, there are some really cute ones I have my eye on at the moment.
Necklaces or Bracelets? BOTH! But at the moment, I can't go into the sotre without looking at statement necklaces, they are my recent obsession!
Heels or Flats? I only wear flats really, heels occacionally, but I really want some boots with a small heel. .
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots? I don't own either, so I don't really have a large opinion on this one..
Jacket or Hoodie? Jacket. Hoodies are really comfy though!
Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe? I don't shop at any, but Forever 21 always has me in love with items on the website.
Saks 5th or Nordstrom? Nordstrom... I hear about it a lot on youtube!
Hair:
Curly or Straight? Both! I don't really like using heat to curl my hair so...Straight probably.
Bun or Ponytail? Buns are cute, when I can successfully do them. :(
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips? Bobby Pins all the way baby!
Hair Spray or Gel? Never used gel, so spray for me please.
Long or Short? I am trying to grow my hair really long so badly, but it stops at a certain point. I envy long hair, so I will have to pick that.
Light or Dark? It depends on the person. My hair is in the middle, and I quite like it.
Side Sweep or Full Bangs? I've had both and I loved them equally as much!
Up or Down? Down for me, I think I look silly with a ponytail :(
Random:
Rain or Shine? SHINE! At this rate in the UK, it doesn't look like it will be anything similar to summer until Christmas time, haha.
Summer or Winter? I love being cosy in oversized jumpers, but then I won't miss a good summer dress either! BOTH!
Fall or Spring? Umm.... I'll say Spring, but if I did this in Autumn i'd pick that!
Chocolate or Vanilla? BOTH?
East Coast or West Coast. I live in the UK guys. Im not sure....
Thanks for reading guys, hope you enjoyed reading this great TAG! Let me know if you are going to do it! :)

GOSH Nail Polish Collection and Small Review

Thursday 28 March 2013

Hi everyone! You may have seen that yesterday that I posted my collection of Gosh Soft and Shine Lip Balms, and today I am here to show you my very large collection of GOSH nail polishes. About a year ago, I got slightly addicted to buying nail polish and now I have ended up with a vast amount of polish, 16 of them being just GOSH.
So I will start now!
That's a lot of nail polish. 6 discontinued or limited edition and 10 normal shades.
Oh my Gosh! Haha, nope not funny. Do I see Gosh Holo there?!?
Limited edition/Discontinued Polishes: Im so lucky have a lot of the HTF (hard to find) most wanted polishes!
Left to right: Avantgarde, Magic Star, Rainbow, Holographic (549 Original), Holographic Hero (Relaunch of original) and Spot On! Pink.
Mmm..I do love my colours and pastels!
Left to right: Wild Lilac, Flamingo, Bubblegum, Miss Minty (LOVE IT!), Blue Balloon, Crisp Coral and Peachy.
The formula of GOSH polishes are incredbible, fast drying, easy to apply, and only 2-3 coats needed to reach full opacity. The colour range is great too!

The final 3 polishes.

Left to right: Gold, Silver, Miss Mole. The gold and silver are some of the best metallic polishes I have ever tried. They are such great polishes, and I would recommend these if stamping is something you do regularly and want some simple colours to stamp over everything!

What brand of nail polish is your favourite? I think I have a few favourites, but do you suggest any?
Thanks for reading, follow via GFC, Bloglovin' (buttons to the right) and twitter; www.twitter.com/thebeaubow

Gosh Soft 'n' Shine Lip Balms - My Collection and Review

Wednesday 27 March 2013

Hi guys! GOSH is a really incredible brand in the drugstore, I love their nail polishes (I have a very large stash of them- collection post will be coming soon!), and they also have some great other products makeup-wise. The soft and shine balms are very highly pigmented vanilla/sweet scented tinted lip balms/stains. The colour payoff is incredible, they moiturise pretty well, and the colour lasts a fair amount of time. So, I am going to show you the ones I have now, and you will also see a swatch or two!
The 7 Balms I own.
These are discontinued I think, as they were in a GOSH clearance bin at the end of season, on sale for 99p each. I couldn't resist and I bought 7. Some were a gamble as I didn't know what the colours were, but me and Megan were trying to search for open ones in the bottom to find the colours, which worked quite well.
The Colours of the Balms. I think I chose a pretty good selection of colours!
Left to right for the above and below pictures: Barbie, Passion Pink, Scarlet, Perfect Plum, Aubergine, Sweetheart, Irony.
Barbie, Passion Pink, Scarlet, Perfect Plum, Aubergine, Sweetheart, Irony
I think the colour selection is incredible with these balms, and I know there was about 5 other shades or more, which I wish I had picked up, but oh well! My favourites are perfect plum and scarlet, as they are just simple nude/wearable colours for day to day, and the others are also great for when you want a bright glossy colour on your lips! :)

Thanks for reading guys, let me know in the comments if you picked up anything in a clearance bin in Superdrug recently! :)

ELF Studio Shimmer Palette Swatch + Review

Tuesday 26 March 2013

GUESS WHO FINALLY HAS INTERNET!
Hi everyone! Another ELF Review for you today! I love ELF makeup, some don’t but I think the studio range is great. This little thing caught my eye whilst I was having a little splurge during the BOGOF offer. It is such a versatile product; it can be used on the face for a stunning dewy glow, on the eyes as a base or wash of colour, and on the lips to define and give more shape. It’s great! The creams are super pigmented and have a very smooth and lightweight touch.
Product Shot.
Swatches.
For £3.75 to get 4 stunning creams (white, champagne, peach and pink) and a cute little brush to apply them, you can’t really go wrong! It is something really fun to experiment with and a good item to carry around with you, to save space of lots of individual powder products.
In summer, I love to wear cream products rather than caking on the powders. Do you? What is your favourite cream blush? I love the Topshop ones and would love to try some more!
Once again, thanks for reading, and don’t forget to follow me on GFC and Bloglovin’ (buttons to the right) and also on twitter – www.twitter.com/thebeaubow Tweet me anything you like!

I'll be back soon/weekend shopping.

Saturday 23 March 2013

So as you all probably know, I am internetless and have been for almost a week. I think im having withdrawl symptoms at the moment...
So how am I writing this post? I'm sitting on my bed, getting incredibly stressed as i try and type this posts on my phone thats trying to squeeze out internet roaming data megabytes and working at about 1 mile an hour.
The good news is that i should have comfortable internet access by monday/tuesday at the very latest. Never again will I agree to an internet switchover.
In the meantime, i am going to go shopping tomorrow and I will try and do a mini haul when I have internet. Other than that I am also spending my weekend writing numerous blog posts on Word so I can bombard you with many posts! :-)
I'm really sorry about this guys. Its a shame that i have just created this blog and already I am having to have a weeks break from it because of someone elses problem.
Once again i am sorry and I hope you understand what is happening.
Let me know in the comments what you would like to see when I can post :-)
Now i need to care for my thumbs after 10-15 minutes typing my mind on this tiny touchscreen and now I realise that on a computer this is going to look feeble..

Handbag Essentials - Guest Post.

Thursday 21 March 2013

Hey to all of Lauren's readers!
Once again, Megan from TheBeautyPier is back with a guest post whilst Lauren is internet-less. Whoever is dealing with Lauren's internet, please get a move on, we have *important* blog browsing, posting and video watching to do!

For a post to keep you all entertained, I am going to give you a write up on my handbag essentials. I never really take every single product around with me as I usually have a rather small bag, but this is what I take when I have the space, and if it isn't every item it will be a few still. Let's gooooo!

So, what you can see in the above image are handbag must haves, if you have a large bag!

1. Compact Mirror.
If you don't have a compact mirror, go and treat yourself to one, now! The one you can see is from Claire's, with a diamonté owl which I thought was cute for £1.50! If you like to take around makeup products that have a mirror in them, then this isn't really needed but you never know when a stray hair pops up you need to pluck from your brow!

2. Cream Blush.
Cream blush is my saviour. I have dry skin, so cream blush is more moisturising than powder and it is easier to apply, as you don't need a brush on the go. The one featured here is Topshop Primer Time, which can fade so top ups may be necessary also!

3. Lipbalm.
If there was one thing you could only take with you, choose this! Cracked lips are a pain, especially in the lovely sunny English land, so this is vital! The one you can see here is Chapstick Apple Lip Balm.

4. Nail File.
I carry one of these everywhere as well as lip balm. This is my second ultimate take away product! When your nails break, you try to bite them into shape. Don't do it! That's what made me bite my nails again so pop one of these in your bag to avoid nail mishaps!

5. Blotting Sheets
We all know powder can be such a bother, with brushes needed to apply it which just take up way to much room, so if you suffer from oilness throughout the day, just press one of these Kleenex Blotting Sheets onto your face to absorb excess yucky stuff. There really effective!

6. Hand Cream.
Dry skin, perhaps dry hands? I know I get dry patches between my fingers so this is quite helpful to leave my hands soft. In the image you can see a mini OPI Avojuice in Vanilla Snowflake.

7. Hand Sanitizer
Maybe my third top hand bag must have? If you commute, then pick up one of these to keep your hands squeaky clean! This particular sanitizer is Hand Maid by Soap & Glory, which smells really nice too!

8. Lip Product of the Day
This one is pretty obvious, if you want to keep a fresh looking lip then carry your product around to top up! The one in the image is a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey.

9. Concealer.
Usually I won't top up my concealer, just cover any new blemishes that have popped up since the morning. Above is the much raved about Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair.

So that's it! I apologise I didn't make it to 10, maybe a bag to put it in could fill that place?
Thank you very much for reading, come back soon, hopefully Lauren will be here tomorrow!

Orgainised Blogging - My Blogging Book/Diary

Sunday 17 March 2013

Hi everyone!
So, sometimes blogging can get a bit out of hand when you don't know what you need to swatch, and you can't remember all the things you have already taken photos of, and when you don't know all the details about a product. That is why I decided to write notes. I started by writing on an old notebook, but I decided I should invest in a good quality one that will last me for a while.
I found this one in a department kind of store about an hour away from my house called 'Boundary Mills/ Downtown'. It cost me £4.99, which I didn't think was incredibly reasonable, but I fell in love with the print.
HOW CUTE!? Oh, and, ignore the chipped nail polish. Collection 2000 Hot Looks range isn't fab.
Well, do excuse the chipped nail polish... The front and back are the same print with a polka dot spine. The 'bunting' reads 'notes, thoughts, ideas, lists, doodles, dates' and I thought that was so cute!
The full cover.
I love the fact that it looks like someone has actually stuck on small buttons and sequins, as when you look closely you can actually see that they have even printed the illusion of glue onto it! So creative!
Oooh pretty :)
A sneaky peak inside :) the paper is actually very high qualuty and thick.
I wrote in red pen as I thought it matched with the notebook...is that OCD? Ha ha!

This notebook will be something that I will keep forever so that I can remember all about blogging!
It's a super handy idea aswell, is you often feel a little stressed when blog posting!

Thanks for reading, comment and follow! :) (GFC and Bloglovin' - Button to the right)

Chapstick 'Stunning Lips Kit' Review (Collection 2)

Saturday 16 March 2013

Hi everyone! Lipbalms are one of my favourite things and I have been eyeing up this kit in ASDA now for a while, and for £3.50 for 3 balms, you can't really say no!
There are 3 flavours; apple (my favourite!), strawberry and cherry, which are also lovely.
There isn't any colour pay off from the apple one, or the strawberry one, and the cherry one gives the slightest pink tint, that it's hardly noticeable.
The colours of the balms. I think my photography skills are improving a great deal!
If you can't decide which lipbalm you want to take out with you, throw this whole tin into your bag and you will be good to go. It's fool-proof!
Such a cute tin! They have a few other tins too!
The balms in the tin.
These lipbalms also have SPF 15, so I will be wearing these a lot in the spring/summer (if we get one in the UK) for that extra sun protection!
This is overall just such a cute product, and great for day to day use, and on the go!
They are really moisturising too, and also taste soo good!

What is your favourite lipbalm at the moment?

OOTD - Monochrome with Neon Yellow Accents

Friday 15 March 2013

Hi everyone!
Another OOTD post for you today! I ended up going shopping the other day, and most of the things that are featured in this post are what I bought. I ended up buying myself the cardigain I was wearing in the last OOTD that I borrowed from Megan as I love it so much and it's a really versatile item to have in your wardrobe.
Cardigain - Primark £8, Dress - Primark £5,
Monochrome is big this spring, and I am embracing it quite a bit. I don't feel like wearing entirely black and white, as I feel a bit dull, so I thought the neon yellow accents were a great idea!

Neon Ring - Primark £1 in sale, £2 originally

I really love this ring. It's a simple way to add a small pop of colour to any outfit. I never would used to have liked anything like this, but now I can't get enough of it!
Shoes - Primark roughly £6 (old)
I went with some simple shoes with this outfit, as I didn't want to take the focus away from the neon yellow by wearing a coloured or nude shoe. The bow detailing is a cute way of evening out a little bit of the harshness of the monochrome.
Neon Yellow Bow Belt - £1 (sale) £2 originally (Pack of 2- Black and Yellow) Primark
This neon bow also was the way I incorporated the colour into this outfit. I spotted this in Primark the other day and fell in love with it!

So that is my second OOTD posts for you guys!
How did you like it, let me know what you think in the comments!

Don't forget to follow on GFC (while it's still here), Bloglovin' via the button to the right, and also you can now follow me on twitter for updates on new posts and other little updates!

Follow me on Twitter!

Friday 15 March 2013

With all this drama about Google Reader and GFC, I decided that it wouold be a good idea to give you as many ways to keep up to date with my newest posts as possible.

If you could either use the bloglovin' button to the side, or follow me on twitter, or both it would be much appreciated. That way I can tweet about all my latest posts and you will be able to view them!

Thanks guys! I will be back later for a normal post :)

BLOGLOVIN'

Friday 15 March 2013

This was so that my bloglovin' account could link up to my Blogger feed. :)

GFC DRAMA!? Follow me on bloglovin'

Thursday 14 March 2013

So, as a few of you other bloggers reading this may know already, Google Reader is disappearing on the 1st July, which means soon after that GFC and this RSS will also be going, not yet but soon after. I'm gutted. My blog is just starting to peak and I am getting new followers daily. I have read about this via other blogs and google, so any incorrect Info in here, well incorrect panicky ramblings...isn't what I have concluded.  I am upset about this...but there are solutions.

I would advise to create an account on bloglovin' as you can then follow all of the bloggers you already follow on this and the RSS will keep you updated with the latest posts. When you create an account you may be asked if you want to import the blogs you already follow to that feed.

I would be very thankful if you could follow me on bloglovin' using either the button to the right (the pretty girl face thingy) and that will take you to the right place to follow. One click will make me smile :-)

OR, use this link and follow there! - it's the same as the button, it's up to you which one you choose to do, I don't mind!
http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/5089293/the-beau-bow

Thanks guys! I really don't want to start blogging again from square one.
