SheerCover Lip Trio

Tuesday 30 July 2013

Hi guys!
So, I don't know about you, but I am not a lipgloss person. I find that they gloss up my lips for about 20 minutes and then the magic is gone, and they don't exactly add much colour either. But this lip trio from SheerCover is great, and the glosses have incredible pigmentation too!
Sheercover is a brand that isn't really known to be high end, but is kind of pricey, and is apparently used by the makeup artists for either Britains Got Talent or the X Factor, I can't remember what I said on the leaflet.

L-R: Rich Berry, Sweet Peach, Rose

The lip glosses are sticky, but nothing unbearable on the lips. The pigmentation is incredible, and I like the shimmery deep bluey-red the best. I will probably never wear the Sweet Peach one, although I am definitely keeping it for it one day I want to do some sort of specific look with a random gold lip?! Aha! I like the one in Rose as well, as it isn't shimmery, and is a very muted nude-orange. Not very rose, but I like it a lot.
I love the packaging of these, as it is very simple and they are very thin tubes, and so they don't take up a lot of room at all! These are nice for handbag size, but if you wanted to apply these again throughout the day, make sure that you have a mirror, because something this pigmented needs to be applied accurately!

As you can see, the pigmentation is incredible. I feel like like Rich Berry could be a great Christmas or New Years, and I know that is very far ahead, but oh well!  (It is a little darker)
One final thing I just discovered about these glosses is that...They contain Mineral Oil. I'm not sure how I feel about this, as I have heard that it can cause an addiction to the product, but I think that might be for balms, and to be honest I don't wear these too much anyway.
So, that is all for todays post, I hope you enjoyed reading, and I will see you next time!

Get To Know Me - Beauty Blogger TAG

Sunday 28 July 2013

Hi guys!
I saw this tag on Megan's blog, which you all know and love, and I thought it would be a nice relaxing post to write instead of a beauty review on this Saturday afternoon.
I will just get onto the questions because this could be a long one!

Just a random picture!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or naturally straight?
My hair used to be very very straight as a young child, and it still is quite straight now with a bit of maintenance, as sometimes (almost all the time), when it air dries after washing, I end up with the bottom layer of my hair very frizzy, and then I have 2 tiny curls framing my face, and it looks bad, but can be fixed.
2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I've never dyed my hair before, apart from once when I used wash-in, wash-out thing (but I don't really think that counts) because I don't really mind my hair colour, and to be honest I can't be dealing with the damage it might leave on my hair.
3.  Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
I normally always have it down, with a few bits pinned up, but since I got it cut a week ago, I have been loving to have it up, as it is shorter and thinner (my hair is VERY thick), and so it hangs nicely.
4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or do you go to a salon?
I always do it myself. Not once have I ever been to a salon, and I don't really feel like I will in the future either. It does last longer apparently, but I am one for picking polish off my nails and so I don't think that will apply to me anyway!
5. How often do you change your nail polish?
If I am at school (it's about every 3 days now I'm on summer holidays), I will paint my nails on the Sunday afternoon ready for the week, but then by Tuesday morning I have picked it all off... Oopsies!
6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
I paint them in the winter, but then.... I just leave it. In the summer I love painting my toes, and I like to embrace all the bright colours!
7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
School days, 20 minutes, when it is the weekend or holidays, I like to really take my time and use it as an opportunity to experiment, and so I take 30+ minutes depending on the complexity of what I am doing.
8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
It is probably 9 times out of 10 that I will go straight for the face. I never really do dramatic eyes, but when I do they will come first.
9. Do you collect makeup or buy what you need when you need it?
I am a huge collector. My makeup collection has suddenly grown dramatically grown in the past few weeks, but as it is my hobby, I don't feel *that* bad...
10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Never, ever, ever! I have glasses and so until I am brave enough to embrace the under eye bags and get contact lenses, lashes will not be getting at all close to my eyeballs.
11. Do you wear a full face of makeup everyday?
Most of the time yes. If I wear makeup, then 90% of the time I will go for all of it, but I try to have 1 day a week where I have no makeup on. I do like just concealer and mascara sometimes, but I have bad skin and I like things to be covered.
12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
I don't mind not wearing it, but I still do wear it quite a lot. Not because I feel like I have to or anything, I just think it is fun to put on!
13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
I don't mind too much, but I get a little embarrassed if I have a big ol' blemish and I see people I know!
14. How many high end products do you have?
Just the one, Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I am all about the drugstore/high street!
I have to think about buying high end products for a long time, and then I end up not buying them anyway!
15. Do you plan your OOTD each night or when you're getting dressed?
I like to just see what mood I am in. If I plan an outfit I end up getting more stressed, because I want to change it, so I just wait until the morning.
16. How often do you change your handbag?
I have 2 small bags that I like to alternate between, and then a bigger one I use sometimes aswell, so it depends what I am wearing really. Sometimes I will go weeks with the same bag!
17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
On school days it is about 6:30-7:00 and I thought I could get some lie-ins in these holidays but all week I have been up at 7:30! I like to go to sleep pretty early on school days, so around 9:30-10:00 pm, but in the holidays it gets later.
18. How often or when do you workout?
My my idea 'work out' is going on Just Dance 3 in the mornings, aha! I have tried sit ups and like 2 squats once, and I was in pain, and that never happened again!
19.  Left handed or right handed?
Right!
20. How tall are you?
I think I am around 5ft 5" bordering 5.5", but I am not really sure, That is probably wrong as I like to kid myself that I am taller than I am so I think the 5ft 5" inches is more accurate than anything aha!
21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
I learn Spanish at school, and I am really enjoying it!
22. How many pets do you have?
Two guinea pigs, and they are adorable!
23. How often are you on blogger?
A lot. No other words to describe my addiction. aha!
24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
I do quite often! I like to find new blogs when people leave their links.
25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Hmmm.... nope. Aha! Well, in my head I do, but I normally remember them anyway, especially when me and Megan talk about them all the time!
26.  How did you come up with your blog name?
I just sort of...thought of it! I wanted something that sounded the same and were spelt differently, and 'beau' links to beauty and 'bow' links to fashion!
27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I just have a very basic Fujifilm one which I got for about £70, it films in HD and it does great close ups in natural light (aka outside or on the windowsill!), I like to borrow my dad's Canon DSLR sometimes, but one day I hope to be able to get one for myself.
28. How often do you clean your house?
I don't have to clean the house, as I live with my parents and sister, but I have to tidy and sometimes polish my room, change the bedding etc, but I like to have a tidy room anyway, so there isn't really much for me to do!
29.  What's your favourite colour?
I like purple, but also I am a sucker for coral (at the moment aha!) and also, as Megan said, the typical blogger colour of mint green!
30. Do you swear?
If I am angry, sometimes yes. (Sorry Mum and Dad!), nowadays teens are so used to being around the bad language that sometimes it slips out! Especially when I am singing along to a rap or something and then realise what I have said! I am one to change the words though so I dont have to swear; like 'shizzle' or 'shiz' or 'fug' ahah!
31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Sleep. And a lot of it. I went to a friends big birthday girly sleepover last night and I got literally about 4 hours sleep (no matter how late I go to bed, I am such an early riser!), and so I have already had a long nap, and I think I am going to catch up with some YouTube videos and also have a good relax!
So, that was the TAG, and if you guys do this tag, let me know! I think they are so fun to write!

Summer Wishlist: Sandals

Friday 26 July 2013

Hi guys!
So, as the weather is getting a lot better, and we are finally seeing a bit of summer *touch wood*, I have been lusting over sandals. Megan from TheBeautyPier has been buying and wearing some really nice sandals, and I have also been obsessed with 'Lily Melrose' or llymlrs and the way she rocks the sandals, and I have really been inspired to get some sandals, and there is no better way to show which ones I am lusting after, than a wishlist post!
Also, if you do read Megan's blog a lot, you will know that on one of her wishlist posts, she did some really nice pictures, and I thought I would try it myself (but obviously giving her the credit!).

I love me some sandals! Haha :)

Pair 1:

These are like, amazing. I love the gold chunky small heel, and I really feel like this is something Lily Melrose would wear, and they would go with everything. I think that I would get a lot of wear out of these, and they are the most expensive pair in this post, but I feel like they are the pair I would want to buy the most.  In my opinion these are such a versatile piece. You can get them HERE

Pair 2:

The next pair are from ASOS, and I feel like I really should actually buy these, as they are now half price to £25 in the sale! They look really comfy again, and I have been into the gladiator style sandals, and the mix of different types of studs in gold and gunmetal is something else that makes me like these even more, as they aren't your typical gladiator sandals. You can get these HERE

Pair 3:

So, these are a little more interesting. I love monochrome, and I love these sandals. The price is great in my opinion considering they are from Topshop, and the quality looks so good! I think if I was to own a pair of these, I would also wear them a lot, because of the simple colour scheme that would match with everything!
These can be purchased HERE

Pair 4:

I really like these ones too. If you couldn't tell already, I am loving the chunky heels on the sandals, or a small height. I love the nude colour of these, and I thought that they would go so nicely with the colourful baggy comfy trousers I have from Primark - you see, I am planning outfits with sandals I don't even have! I like that there are some spiked studs as you can slightly see in the image, as it adds an edgy effect to the shoe. You can get these beauties from HERE

Pair 5:

Finally, you see these ones from River Island. I really like the look of these, as they are just a simple black gladiator sandal, but then they have a very small wedge on it. I seriously love them! These are so simple, but could also match with so many things! That is usually something I look for in shoes, because as I am a teenager, my feet could still grow, and I want to buy a shoe that I will get a lot of wear out of in the year or so that I would have to wear it (this is why, I normally live in Primark shoes aha!). These can be bought HERE

You can also see that I am loving the look of sandals that reach to the ankle area, as I think that they would look a little more flattering for me.
So, that was my wishlist of all the sandals I have been lusting after this summer. Let me know in the comments what you have really been into at the moment for this hot weather, I love trying out new things! And, also, I am very excited to know that Baby Lips are now in the UK, so I will be hopefully getting some of them when they pop into stores in the next week or two (they are available online at the moment).

HUGE Weekend Haul | Beauty & A little Fashion

Monday 22 July 2013

Hi guys!
I'm pretty sure that a weekend doesn't go by without me shopping. I don't always buy things but over the last 3 days I have been on spending mode. Though, everything I bought was either on offer, hugely discounted (in Poundshops etc.) or in a sale.
I will start with the fashion things as to be honest, there are less of them.

The first thing I got was this purse from Primark. It feels such good quality and it is pretty spacious too! I love the gold studs as well, and I seriously cannot explain how expensive it looks/feels! It was only £2 half price in the seasonal sale too, and it just made this purchase even better.

So the only other non-beauty purchase of this shopping haul is these pointed snakeskin ballet pumps from Primark, which were £3 in the sale. Megan has these, and I really wanted them when they were full price so I jumped for joy! They are very comfortable too and I cannot wait to wear them. I also bought a couple of presents for my friend for her birthday but I won't show them here in case she is reading!

I ran out of Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, and so I bought 2 more. My mum has a 10% discount code and so the 2 of them cost me £7.54, which isn't too bad. As I am a little tanned, I am inbetween 2 colours, and so I have to buy two to mix them. But following on from this purchase....

... When you spent more than £4 on Collection products, you got a free 'Hot Looks' Nail polish. I chose this bright pink with blue shimmer in it, called 'Siren' and I thought it would be a nice colour for my toes in this heat.

In Pound Land I found a Milani Sunset Duo's Blush and Bronzer in the shade Sunset City. I love the blush, as it is pretty much a more pink, muted version of the Sleek Rose Gold blush, and it looks very pretty on the cheeks. I also think the bronzer is OK, but maybe a little warm toned for my skin.

In 'PoundWorld' I also got a pack of 2 NYC items - the first being an Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in the shade Apple Blueberry Pie, which is actually not available in the UK, and so this made me even more excited when I got it! I wish I had look further to see if there were more colours as I really love this one, but maybe next time. I can see this being a staple for me in summer!

Part 2 of this pack was this NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil, in the shade 'Moody Blue', it is a super pigmented, and soft eyeliner, and although it is not a colour I will really wear, I may get some use out of it one day. I mainly bought the pack for the balm anyway, so I don't mind if I don't get much use out of it anyway.

The last 3 items I have bought are 3 Dainty Doll eyeshadows. I love these and I now have 4 and the eyeshadow base, I am hoping to get more, whilst they are in the Pound stores, such a bargain!
At the top I have Copacabana which is a bright (matte) aqua-blue. Then I have on the bottom left, I have Treat Her Like A Lady, which is a shimmery taupe colour. Then, finally I have Purple Hills, a bright purple with blue shimmer in it. As you can see, I love Dainty Doll shadows, no matter what the colours are!

So, that is absolutely everything I got on this trip. Let me know what you think of what I got, and let me know of anything you have bought recently!

My Top Summer SPF Lip Products

Thursday 18 July 2013

Hi guys!
So I think here in the UK it is actually safe to call it summer, and with all this sunshine,  I need to whip out some SPF. I also have a lot of lip products and balms with SPF in them too, so I thought I would share my favourites with you. By the way, I am likely to be holding a Blog Sale (yay!) early next week so please let me know if this is something you are interested in.

Lets get onto the products!

The first product I love is this lip balm with SPF 15. It is from the brand 'UltraSun' and the lipbalm itself is called UltraLip. The company specialise in sun protection, and so I always know that this is a reliable one to keep with me when it's hot. It doesn't have any colour, and it is extremely moisturising on the lips, especially if they have got a little sore from the sun, this will soothe that a bit too.

Another lip balm with SPF that I love is the Strawberry ChapStick. This only has SPF10 but it still is better than none at all. It has a lovely scent, which bearing in mind I do not like artificial strawberry scents at all, this must be good in some way. It doesn't apply really much colour at all, but if you put a lot of this on you will get a slight tint to the lips.

Although I really do not like the taste of the Sleek Pout Polishes, they give a nice pigmented colour to the lips and also provide you with sun protection, so sometimes the taste has to be forgotten. This one is in the shade Powder Pink and is the only one I own, and one day I hope they will change the formula so they taste better and then I can buy some more, as they are really good products!

Finally, one of my absolute favourites is the Malibu Lipcare mint flavoured lip balm. This is a lovely moisturising and thick lip balm with a long lasting softening effect on the lips - I do not have to apply this very often at all compared to some lipbalms. This one also has the highest SPF so whilst it has been really hot I have been slathering this on.

So, they were my favourite lip products with SPF in for summer, let me know yours in the comments, as I love to buy more! (I am a lipbalm addict haha!).
Also, don't forget to let me know if you are interested in me having a blog sale, as I think it may be up at the weekend or Monday!

Laptop Dilemma!

Sunday 14 July 2013

Hi guys!
If you are here for a beauty review or an OOTD, unfortunately that is not what you will be getting today. My dear old little laptop has been having some issues before with the battery and charger, and now it has decided to die completely without me being able to recharge it. The worst part is that I have all of my blogging photos on there, and so now I cannot do a post unless I take a lot more photos which I currently don't have time for. I have ordered a new charger and battery, and so this issue should be sorted in no more than about 5 days and there will b a post shortly. I will try and do a tag or something to fill the gap, but I hope you understand my issue!

The best I could do was find a cool quote slightly related to this post. The image is from HERE

Maybe this will teach me a lifelong lesson to backup my photos and files onto a memory stick or to somewhere else. Oops.. Everyone makes mistakes aye?
Well, that's it for today. I hope to se you very soon depending on when the bits I need arrive in the post.
Thanks for reading guys,

My New Makeup Storage/My Collection

Thursday 11 July 2013

Hi guys!
As a beauty blogger, my makeup collection is rapidly increasing, through PR samples, or just purely my growing obsession for all things beauty related. This means, I am outgrowing my storage space, and MUJI nor Ikea Alex units are within my small teenage budget, and so I was holding on for a long time until I found something that I could add to when my collection grows or that would keep me going for a long time.
The 2 units I actually found were in WHSmiths, each £14.99 or 2 for £22.50 (Buy one get one half price!), and are amazing quality and have enormous amounts of space. They match with the monochrome w/ purple theme of my room too, so just an extra bonus! - what a ramble of an intro, grab a cuppa, because at this rate this post is going to be a long one! I also used the DSLR today, so the pictures are super good quality - yay!

So, this is the makeup storage area. It makes my collection look a lot more condensed than it actually is (until you open a drawer!), and looks very tidy. I have some fake Ikea flowers in an Ikea vase for decoration, and my 'Tatty Teddy' sits on the other end, to fill some space. I have all my brushes on top. The purple cups are from Instore/Poundstretcher and one contains the eye brushes and one contains face brushes. The cup in the middle is from the range and contains my Real Techniques brushes (only 4 so far, but soon to expand), and also some cleaned mascara wands for eyebrow combs.

In the very first drawer, you can see that I have all of my lipglosses. This I have some MUA, Sheercover, A 'Cocktail Kiss' which I have hardly ever used, a mini Urban Decay one, and some others too.

The next drawer along holds all of my GOSH Soft 'n' Shine lip balms at the back (I have 8) and then at the front you see my 2 Anatomicals lip balm/glosses, and then a GOSH Lip Marker, and then my 3 Balm-Stain/chubby stick items, 2 MUA one Revlon - which is soon to grow too! By the end of this post, I think my makeup collection is destined to triple...

As you all most definitely know, I have an addiction of some sort to lipbalms. This isn't even all of my collection of lipbalms, but it is most of them. I have some staples in there like 2 Vaselines (the Rosy Lips one is further back) and also an SPF one, by UltraLip/UltraSun.

So,  this is my lipstick drawer. At the front I have my Sleek Pout Polish and an ELF lip colour, and 2 Rimmel lip liners. Then at the front row, I have my 5 Rimmel lipsticks which I love, and then you see some MUA, quite a few Avon, and some other brands like Natural Collection and Sally Hansen.

Here you can see that this drawer is the home to by cream and powder blushes, along with a Sleek Face Form somewhere, and a GOSH Giant Sun Powder, which I am not a fan of. But I have my favourites there, and I am really loving the creams when the weather is like it is at the moment. I also have a few of the MUA Powder blushes as they are just bargainous.

So onto one of the most full up drawers, the face products. In a little cardboard thing (from a simple moisturiser wrapped in paper haha), I have my concealers. I don't actually have that many, but my favourites are the Collection Lasting Perfection ones and a SheerCover duo I have. I also have my powders, and then some primers at the back but I rarely use them, because they are mostly silicone based and that doesn't work with my skin. I then have some other bits 'n' bobs at the back which aren't very well loved to be honest.

I'm a mascara hoarder. That's the best way I can explain this. I have 2 minis in the back, which are hard to see, so that gives me a grand total of 8 mascaras, why... I don't know. I can't help it. Even if I don't like one I still have it tucked away in this drawer - the worst thing is, I threw a couple away a few weeks back. I'm sorry. I shall not buy a new one until at least 2 have ran out.

Primers and liners. I have the Dainty Doll Frankie Girl eyeshadow base at the back, and then the MUA eye primer. The rest is a stash of liners, though I barely ever use them. Saying that, I do want to purchase some more of the MUA Extreme 3 in 1 contour liners, as they are really nice and are only £1.50 a pop.

I once got sent a huge batch of eye serums and creams, and I have 4 of them in here, still waiting to be used more than just a small time for reviewing purposes. I also have a moisturiser there which I never use and also a mini Clarins facial SPF/Moisturiser to try.

Shadows. Mono's or duo's live in here. I have some favourites like my ELF 'Pebble' one, and my Rimmel ones, and an old friend which is a simple duo from NYC. I like to wear shadow most days, and this way I can see lots of them which allows me to try out more of them. I also really like the MUA ones which are bargainous at £1 each.

Miscellaneous (is that spelt right?!) drawer. Everyone needs one. I normally keep my H&M beauty blender dupe in here, but it was elsewhere when the picture was taken. I have cotton pads and Q-Tips and then some blotting sheets, nail files, and then some sharpeners for pencils. This drawer is a necessity - I always have these things lying around and now they are controlled and condensed into a drawer.

The final drawer (at last!), contains all of my eye palettes and larger quads.I have the well loved Naked 2 palette on display there, and then my MUA dupe. I also have 2 SheerCover palettes which I love. I also have 2 GOSH quads in there somewhere and some random ones too. This is one of the drawers which I really love, as I love palettes, for a grab and go look.

So, that is my makeup collection, and this post literally has taken me 3 days to write! So I will be back with my next post soon, and hopefully I won't keep you waiting for as long!
Bye,

SheerCover Smokey Eyes Palette

Saturday 6 July 2013

Hi guys!
I hardly ever wear a smokey eye. Or anything that is not neutral to be honest.
When this palette was sent to me, I decided that I would start sporting the smoked lid, but that never really happened. I still have tried it though, so that I could review it for you.
You get 6 colours in this palette, all named on the back.

From left to right, you have: White Ice, Silver Polish, Soft Coal, Royal Blue, Deep Violet and Starry Night.

I really do like the packaging. It is a very slim, shiny, black (not always my favourite!), palette, which would be really easy to carry around in a makeup bag if you enjoy the smokey look on a daily basis.
I like the colours too, you have your classic whites, and greys, but then you also get an almost colbalt blue, an aubergine/purple and then a black with a shot of silver glitter through it.

As you can see, these are very well pigmented. The shimmer/glitter from Starry Night doesn't actually show up as much as I would have liked, but sometimes that glitter could be too much anyways. I think the smokey eye looks better when it's matte, but maybe only shimmer on the base. I guess these shadows could be a *little* chalky, but they last a long time this way, and they are still easy to blend.

Overall, this is a good palette, but not one I will wear often. I would really recommend this to anyone that is more adventurous with shadows, but not for anyone who likes neutrals.
This palette retails for £20.95 from www.sheercover.co.uk

Thanks for reading guys, and thanks for 90 followers! :)
