BEAUTY HAUL - CAR BOOT, TKMAXX, AND MORE

Sunday, 1 September 2013

Shopping is a healthy addiction for us beauty bloggers. I am constantly buying things to review and try out, and it happened again this weekend.

I was on quite a bargain hunt, and I got quite a lot for under £15, leaving me with a beaming, beauty-caused smile.

Cover Girl mascaras are just one of the many products you people are blessed with in the US (not sure where else..), and so when I spotted this one in TKMaxx for £3.99, I refused to leave without it. The packaging is naff, yes, but that excused this is the one mascara that I have found to not go anywhere on my lashes and hold the curl for a long time.. I have no idea what I will do when I need to repurchase this.

I need to love a product a lot to repurchase it. This is my 3rd repurchase of this, and I have planned a full blog post about it coming soon. This is the best mascara remover I have tried from the drugstore, but I never really want to pay the full £3.50 odd, as there are some faults with it, but I spotted this in Savers fro £1.69, so I will be stocking up from there from now on.

Impress nails are genuis, but can I justify the £8.99 for them? I don't think so. With a bit of filing I can get 2 uses out of a box, but I still don't like the price tag. I saw these 'Space Cadet' ones in Savers yet again (they have some good stuff in there at the moment) for £3.99! That is a £5 saving, and I will be going there again to get these when I next want them.

I have been after a good white for a while now, and I saw this one in Pound Land from Sally Hansen called Ivory Skull, It is a crisp white creme polish, and I am wearing it right now with a 'flakie' top coat on it, and I love it. It isn't the best and you have to layer 3 coats for full opacity, but it cost me £1 so I can't complain.

I went to a car boot sale today, and I thought if I was going to buy any makeup/beauty items I wanted to disinfect them in some way. Megan told me she has bought Surgical Spirit from Superdrug and mixed it with half water in a spray bottle, so you can easily spray it onto any makeup you wish to disinfect. I never actually bought any but this might come in handy in the future?

What I actually found in the car boot sale (it wasn't a good day today beauty-wise), which I have been going out of my way to find because every shop has stopped selling them, which I don't understand because they are genuis. These were 10p from a lady who said she had had them for ages and never used them. I wish there were more packs, because I would have gotten them all!

I think we all need to bargain hunt a lot more, it really pays off to your collection and your purse, I mean this stuff cost me exactly £12.12!

HAUL - MAC, BOOTS AND CATH KIDSTON

Tuesday, 27 August 2013

I went shopping again. *slaps hand*
At the weekend I went to Cambridge for the day with my family, and while we were there some shopping took place. I wasn't expecting to get much, and I only got 2 things in total, but the next day I took a trip to boots and got a couple of bits too *slaps other hand*

MAC Cosmetics... A new place for me. I always swoon at the new collections, the brushes, shadows, blushes and lipsticks, but never end up at the till. This time, I splurged (it's not often that I do so) and got a lipstick in Faux. £15 for a lipstick is pretty extortionate right? But this is perfect. A' Your lips but better' shade, like 10 times better. A bit of pink, and bit of browny nude, and a bit of plum all in one lipstick. Definitely a new favourite of mine, and worth the price tag it comes with in my say.

After watching a vlog the day before I went from Tanya Burr, I saw the Cath Kidston store and I knew I would be hunting it down. Trying to avoid the over-priced items, I found a cute little cup, it is only plastic, but it is in a nice pattern and for £3 from a store where you normally pay for the name (don't get me wrong, it's lovely), it was mine in minutes - I was going to buy a makeup bag, but I couldn't justify it. And I must say the bags are mighty fancy, pale blue with red writing, in a very nice thick plasticky/rubbery texture.

Moving onto day 2 of the haul. I went to Boots, mainly because I had been told about a clearance they had on with some good items in it... By Megan - The greatest bestfriend I could ask for, but not so great when it comes to provoking me spending money, haha.

I got the Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo in Pink Gold, as this was £2.00 in the sale. I literally think they had discounted this as they had ran out of room on the stand after getting the pomegranate one in that store... it's a little silly if you ask me, but I got it cheap and that is what counts. Being a grey-green eyed gal the whole pink-ish-purple thing doesn't suit me as much as I would like, and safe neutrals are my thing. But I use this with the On and On Bronze one and it is far from the punched-in-the-socket look I was expecting.

Another purchase inspired by Megan is the Cuticura Passion Flower and Mango Antibacterial hand sanitizer. My Soap and Glory one has close to nothing left in it, and this bad boy is huge. a whole 100ml, for only 84p, normally £1.30, but nothing close to the £2.50 S+G have to offer - for only half the amount of product.
It smells incredible too, and makes me feel squeaky clean! I plan to use this at school before and after I eat lunch, and then also before I apply my makeup in the morning.

Last weekend I got this. The Una Brennan Super Facialist Tea Flower Mask. I have used it 3 times now, and I am in luurrvvee. I will have a review coming soon, so I don't want to give away too much about it, but I still love it. This was £5.99 in Boots on a £3 off offer, so if that is still on, get it now! So far, it has worked wonders for my skin, and I am very pleased with it. I thought I should show you just before the offer could run out.

Other than these items, I got an MUA Cream Blush Megan was after, and also a Calvin Klein cream shadow from Poundland - it isn't great. I won't bother writing about the two, because one isn't mine and the other isn't worth talking about... Its a greasy mess to be brutally  honest, that'll teach me not to buy all sorts of randomness from Poundland!

That was my haul, I think I need a spending ban, but I just can't commit. I am hoping to go to a local car boot sale on Sunday, and I am so looking forward to it! I lot of people find great beauty things, so look forward to that if I find any gems.

Yet Another Haul | Beauty, Baby Lips, and Fashion

Sunday, 11 August 2013

Hi guys!
It's a Sunday afternoon, I am sitting at the computer with a cuppa, and I think it is about time I was to show you what I have bought over the past few days. I went to a lovely shopping centre with a friend on Friday and got a few bits and bobs and you guys seem to love haul posts, so here's one for you now!

I popped into River Island, and when you are on a budget , your best bet there is the jewellery stand. I found this lovely midi/finger top ring, which is of course rose gold (the reason I got this), and I found it very interesting as it was double layered so it looks like you have 2 midi rings stacked on! This was £2 and I was very pleased with that little buy.

I went into Primark and managed to restrain myself to only buying one thing. I got this stunning bag which I think I will get tons of wear out of for the autumn/winter seasons, as it is a lovely burgundy/aubergine sort of colour and very vintage looking. The detail on it is really nice too, and finishes off the overall look of the bag. This was a bargainous £8 and so I skipped down to the tills with excitement for this item. I really love it! If the burgundy isn't for you, I am pretty sure that you can also get this in black!

I then popped into the mothership of Lush, and picked up my all time favourite bubble bar, which is the creamy candy slice. I love the smell of this, it smells like sweets and is just lovely! This is about the 4th time I have repurchased this, and I think that says something good about it! I normally can get about 4 baths out of this, so I think it is better than a one use bath bomb.

Unless you have been living under some sort of rock, you will know that the Maybelline Baby Lips have arrived in the UK! The supply in most stores is pretty low at the moment, but I managed to see one of the tinted ones in Pink Punch on display at the till and I picked it up right away! I think they were on a 3 for 2 deal, but I wasn't too sure so I got the one and I am in love with it! I hope to get some more in the future, and for only £2.99 a pop, these are great!

The last item I got was one of the Collection Cream Puff matte lip cream, which is sort of like the liquid lipstick concepts, basically a matte lipgloss. I got the one in Cotton Candy, and I really like it so far! It is very pigmented and it also isn't too drying, but I should mention that if your lips are very dry, you might want to use a good lip scrub/exfoliator beforehand. I want to also get some more of these, the coral one looks nice, I think it is called Fairy Cake! These are also only £2.99 which I think is a great deal.

So that is everything I got, and I hope you enjoyed this rather long post. Let me know what you have bought recently!
Thanks for reading!

HUGE Weekend Haul | Beauty & A little Fashion

Monday, 22 July 2013

Hi guys!
I'm pretty sure that a weekend doesn't go by without me shopping. I don't always buy things but over the last 3 days I have been on spending mode. Though, everything I bought was either on offer, hugely discounted (in Poundshops etc.) or in a sale.
I will start with the fashion things as to be honest, there are less of them.

The first thing I got was this purse from Primark. It feels such good quality and it is pretty spacious too! I love the gold studs as well, and I seriously cannot explain how expensive it looks/feels! It was only £2 half price in the seasonal sale too, and it just made this purchase even better.

So the only other non-beauty purchase of this shopping haul is these pointed snakeskin ballet pumps from Primark, which were £3 in the sale. Megan has these, and I really wanted them when they were full price so I jumped for joy! They are very comfortable too and I cannot wait to wear them. I also bought a couple of presents for my friend for her birthday but I won't show them here in case she is reading!

I ran out of Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, and so I bought 2 more. My mum has a 10% discount code and so the 2 of them cost me £7.54, which isn't too bad. As I am a little tanned, I am inbetween 2 colours, and so I have to buy two to mix them. But following on from this purchase....

... When you spent more than £4 on Collection products, you got a free 'Hot Looks' Nail polish. I chose this bright pink with blue shimmer in it, called 'Siren' and I thought it would be a nice colour for my toes in this heat.

In Pound Land I found a Milani Sunset Duo's Blush and Bronzer in the shade Sunset City. I love the blush, as it is pretty much a more pink, muted version of the Sleek Rose Gold blush, and it looks very pretty on the cheeks. I also think the bronzer is OK, but maybe a little warm toned for my skin.

In 'PoundWorld' I also got a pack of 2 NYC items - the first being an Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in the shade Apple Blueberry Pie, which is actually not available in the UK, and so this made me even more excited when I got it! I wish I had look further to see if there were more colours as I really love this one, but maybe next time. I can see this being a staple for me in summer!

Part 2 of this pack was this NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil, in the shade 'Moody Blue', it is a super pigmented, and soft eyeliner, and although it is not a colour I will really wear, I may get some use out of it one day. I mainly bought the pack for the balm anyway, so I don't mind if I don't get much use out of it anyway.

The last 3 items I have bought are 3 Dainty Doll eyeshadows. I love these and I now have 4 and the eyeshadow base, I am hoping to get more, whilst they are in the Pound stores, such a bargain!
At the top I have Copacabana which is a bright (matte) aqua-blue. Then I have on the bottom left, I have Treat Her Like A Lady, which is a shimmery taupe colour. Then, finally I have Purple Hills, a bright purple with blue shimmer in it. As you can see, I love Dainty Doll shadows, no matter what the colours are!

So, that is absolutely everything I got on this trip. Let me know what you think of what I got, and let me know of anything you have bought recently!

A Bargainous Weekend of Hauling

Sunday, 30 June 2013

Hi guys!
Another weekend, another haul. I don't feel too bad about this haul though, as nothing cost me more that £4.50, that's pretty good. I went to the beach with my family and I visited a bargain beauty shop, so that is where a few of the things some from. Little pic inspired by Megan here:

So, I will start with the things you see above, as they were the things I got in the shop called 'Facial Attraction' - a bargain beauty store.

I got this neon pink Sinful Colors polish. Megan has this, and I have been wanting it for AGES. It really is neon, as it has a blue/purple undertone and shimmer to it, which gives it even more of a neon sheen. This was only £1.99 and it's called Daredevil. It is opaque in 2 coats (yep, I already have it on!), and it dries really quickly - great for the small price tag!

The next thing I got was £2.99, another bargain. It is the Dainty Doll Cream Blush in Paper Roses, a simplistic pale pink blush. My collection of Dainty Doll products is increasing, but I still think I should have got some more items yesterday! Ah wells, there is always Fragrance Direct.

The last 2 things from that store were a whopping £1.99 each - BARGAIN! They are the Rimmel Kate lipsticks. I got one of the matte ones, in shade 101 which is a pale purplish pink matte colour, and then I got 16 in the non-matte formula, which is a pinkish coral colour, which is so nice!

Moving on to the other shops, this was yet another pound shop bargain. This is a Revlon Colorstay nail polish is Provence, which is a grey-lilac colour, it is really nice and I cannot wait to try it. For £1, I couldn't leave it, and MissGlamorazzi loves these polishes, so another reason to buy!

So, as you may have seen on Megan's blog, Dorothy Perkins had an amazing jewellery sale, and I had to get these cute pack of earrings! I have been really into wearing earrings everyday at the moment, and I was in the mood for some new ones. These are just little 'embossed' square studs, there are 2 neon, 2 pastel and 2 metallic colours, and once I had seen Megan with them, I had to go out the following week to get them!

I then got the B. 'Pure Micellar Water' as a makeup remover/Bioderma substitute. I'm pretty sure that I will be the last person to buy a bottle of Bioderma.. This was on offer for £3.32 and the woman at the till was telling my how amazing it is, so I just went for it and bought it! Good ol' Superdrug..

The random purchase of the week was these pens I got off of Amazon for £4.48 including P+P. I got these for revision and planning for my CA's at school, as that's the way I like to learn! I was going to buy a pencil case, but I couldn't find one, so I just will use one I have at the moment.

That was all my hauling this weekend, its a little big, but everything was on some sort of offer r discounted price!

Bargainous Weekend Hauling

Tuesday, 18 June 2013

Hi guys!
So at the weekend, I did the usual of going shopping. I only wanted one thing, but I ended up with more. I do want to start saving my money though, as I am after some storage drawers to keep all my makeup up in, and the ones I have my eye on are around £80 - I need some sort of spending ban. Now. By the way, I managed to get hold of my dads Canon DSLR to take these photos, let me know what you think!

So the first 2 things I got were socks. The first pair are these studded ones, which were reduced to £1, from£1.50. I know, I know, it's not a huge saving. But I had been wanting these for a while and now I have got them, with a reduced price, which just makes it all that bit better!

The second pair were the well loved lace socks that everyone is buying. I thought these would look really cute with some tan sort of booties or brogues and a skater or lace dress in the summer, and now I want the other colours!

So, if you don't know me, you may not know that I am obsessed with Lily Melrose (aka - llymlrs), and the other day I was looking through her blog posts and came across a post about some new 2True Shades for S/S13. One of them being a Models Own Utopia dupe. I was excited. I went to get this, and then... I ended up with a super cool glittery one too. I have ordered some nail wheels online, so you shall be seeing a review on my blog shortly!

I popped into Dorothy Perkins after Megan had managed to get some incredible jewellery bargains in there. Being some sort of religious monochrome wearer/lover, I couldn't pass up the great offer of this dainty yet edgy set of a monochrome triangle necklace and some black triangle earrings, for just £3. It was too good to leave.

Finally, this was what I originally went shopping for. I wanted this because my skin has been annoying me a LOT recently, and after trying and loving this before, I thought I should just buy it anyway. My mum had a £2 off Revlon voucher, so the unlikely drugstore price was forgotten, and this was in my bag. I got a well-loved No.7 voucher too, so that was  a slight bonus to the trip.

Have you been doing any hauling recently? Let me know in the comments!
