Dainty Doll Frankie Girl Eyeshadow Base | Review

Tuesday, 30 April 2013

Hi guys!
Dainty Doll is a brand created by the Girls Aloud star, Nicola Roberts, and I love it. I had my eye on this eyeshadow base, which I have spotted on the likes of Fragrance Direct and other discount places, but...I found this little guy in a POUND SHOP! What?! I nearly jumped around on the spot. I also got an eyeshadow, which will be shown soon in the next few weeks.
This eyeshadow base is a very pale white-beige, which and is a semi-matte, but still has a slightly sticky texture on the eyes, to help the shadow cling to it. Because it is so pale, it really helps the colour intesity too.

I used this the other day, and noticed hardly any creasing with my eyeshadow, and that is an achievement, as normally mine slides off during the day - not a good look. But this really helps that, so I am pretty happy with it!

Have you tried this? Try having a browse in any discount shops or maybe in pound stores, I keep seeing some good bargains in there!

Gosh Soft 'n' Shine Lip Balm (Barbie) | Review and Swatches

Monday, 29 April 2013

Hi guys!
As you may know, I already own a lot of Gosh Soft 'n Shine Lip Balms, and Barbie is one of them. When I was sent this one for review, I was so excited, because the one I have at the moment, melted, and broke. This one is so perfect! Well, it was, until I scraped it on the window, when I was waving it around going mental. Barbie is a stunning bright medium pink creme colour, with no shimmer, and has a sheen/glossy finish to it, and smells like vanilla. What more could you want from a lip colour?!

The lasting power of these is average, and last for at least an hour at a time, because as it is a balm rather than a stain/balm stain or a lipstick, it doesn't cling to the lips as much, it just makes the look more glossy, but the colour is highly pigmented.

I really love these balms, and I have 8 of them now.. Is that excessive? I suppose if you find a good product, you like to have lots of shades of them! But I have a feeling that they are discontinued now..:(
Have you tried any of these?
Let me know in the comments!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation | Review

Saturday, 27 April 2013

Hi guys!
I love the Revlon Colorstay foundation, and when it was coming to the end of its bottle, I decided to give the new(ish) Nearly Naked Foundation a try. I'm going on holiday soon so I am trying to find a lighter foundation with a higher SPF. When I first tried this I was a little shocked at the lower coverage, as I was so used to the Colorstay. But I am kind of getting used to it, but a repurchase of Colorstay may be needed, as I have quite a few blemishes, so I like to cover that.
This is what the shade Vanilla looks like in real life!
Sorry about how dark the foundation looks in the next 2 pictures, there wasn't much good lighting.

The lighting has made it look REAAAL Dark in these pictures..
I would have liked a pump for this foundation, as when the bottle is fairly new, you end up having to try and put more back into the bottle, which is slightly annoying. The packaging is average, with a glass bottle (not as greta for travelling) and a white lid.

I have a combination skin from what I have tried to know from my skin, and this is the one thing I may have to fault about the foundation. This has a glowy finish to it, nothing like a matte-satin finish that the Colorstay gives. I find that because of this, it doesn't hold up on my skin as well as I would like, and I have to reapply concealer a few times. Sometimes I think this would be better if I just had good skin.

Have you tried this foundation? Let me know what you think of it!
Don't forget to follow, subscribe on Youtube, and follow on Twitter!

Sleek Face Form Review

Thursday, 25 April 2013

Hi guys!
Since I purchased this product in January, it has been used every day I have worn makeup in some way or another, and I still have a pretty good amount of it left. This little palette costs £9.99 and you get a blush (I think it is the Rose Gold Blush by Sleek), a highlighting powder, and a bronzer/contour colour. The Sleek blushes and contour kits are much raved about by bloggers, and this is those 2 things, smashed into one palette.

L-R: Countour, Highlighter, Rose Gold Blush
You get a pretty decent amount of product in this palette too, it's £3.33 per 'pan' if you think about it, which is such a bargain!
The sleek packaging is sleek. As cheesy as it sounds, it's true. It actually came in a small box/'sleeve' but it got a little battered. It is matte black (which I will admit gets dirty very easily) but with the glossy writing over the top, it looks so nice. Matte black packaging is my weakness, which is strange, but that's the way it is?
Swatched, you can see the incredible pigmentation of these products. The blush is something you have to be very careful with, as it can look too much in a matter of taps with your brush on the pan. But if used correctly, it adds a glowing wash of colour to the cheeks.
The contour colour and the highlight are lovely for adding a stunning sculpted effect to the skin, without looking shiny from the highlight, or muddy from the contour. I really do love this product.
This was a bit more of an in-depth review today, let me know what you think of it! Remember to ENTER MY GIVEAWAY as there is only a few hours left!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks Review + Swatches

Wednesday, 24 April 2013

Hi guys!
I love Rimmel as a brand at the moment, and their new releases just keep getting better and better! These moisture renew lipsticks were actually found in a pound store, as they are now discontinued shades. I also found a few on Fragrance Direct, so go and have a look on there if you are interested!
The shade selection for these products are great, and the quality of them is incredible. They are super moisturising, and the pigmentation is great too.
L-R: Oxford Street Fuchsia, Fancy, Sweetheart Tulips
These lipsticks have a good lasting power too, and the colour intensity lasts a good amount of time too, as some lipsticks tend to fade a little over time. These don't even dry out the lips!
OOH PRETTY!
L-R: Oxford Street Fuchsia, Sweetheart Tulips, Fancy
I don't particularly like Fancy, as it is very shimmery/frosty on the lips, which looks really bad on me. The other 2 are great, but you have to be careful with Oxford Street Fuchsia, as too much can make it look very overpowering and almost purple toned.

Pretty Pigmented huh? I also really like the packaging of these lipsticks, metallic purple, with a slanted top, which makes them look very sophisticated. They are a little harder to store though, as I tend to like to see all the names by storing them upside down, but they just topple over! But the purple goes with my bedroom.. because I am weird like that and find that it makes it even better.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? I am definitely going to check out my pound shops for more of these, as they are so good!

MUA Lipstick Collection + Review

Tuesday, 23 April 2013

Hi guys!
I love MUA. The price is great, and there are quite a few gems in their collection. Ranging from around £1 - £6, this brand is great for anyone starting to grow an interest in makeup. Don't get me wrong, some things aren't going to be incredible for a pound, but the good outweighs the bad with this brand.
I am a lip product junkie, and always stick to subtle colours, and a few brights in spring/summer. It seems I went a little crazy with my MUA lipstick purchases, but they were only £1 so hey ho. I think I may buy some more, like a staple red colour, a nude colour and maybe another pink.

Shade 2, Shade 4, Shade 12, Shade 16 (I think?!, if not, shade 14)
Shade 2 is plum...
Shade 4 is one I like..
Shade 12 has glitter in it...not shimmer.. GLITTER.
And Shade 16 looks awful on my skintone.
You can guess which is which haha!
Quality wise though, the lipsticks are great! I suppose when something is cheap, you will impulse buy whatever the colour it is..
I am really wanting to try the MUA Undress Me Too palette! Do you recommend it?

Sorry the post was short, I'm pressed for time as I am trying to attempt to learn almost 3 sides of spanish controlled assessment work for my exam! :/
I will do better next time, haha!

Behind The Scenes of Blogging TAG | Created by Me!

Monday, 22 April 2013

Hi everyone! This is the second blogging TAG I have made now, and I am so excited to tag everyone! I will get onto the rules, as every tag comes with some of them!

COPY AND PASTE THE RULES
1. You MUST state that this TAG was created by www.thebeaubow.blogspot.com (Lauren)
2. You must use the image I have provided in this post on your post.
3. You must title this post 'Behind the Scenes of Blogging TAG' so everyone knows what it is about!
4. You must tag at least one other person, but there is not a maximum limit! -You will need to comment on their blog to let them know that they are tagged.
5. Thank the person who tagged you and link their blog.
6. You must answer all the questions
7. HAVE FUN!

Onto the questions:
1. Do you plan for each/some of your blog posts, if so, how do you do this?
I do, I mainy lay in bed if I can't sleep and think about posts and things, which is weird, and I also like to write it in my blogging notebook, which leads onto the next question!

2. Do you have a blogging notebook/diary where you write and plan about things to do with your blog?
Yep, as I just said in the last question. I did a post about it HERE so you can check that out after reading this post, and I find it really helpful when planning.

3. Do you feel pressured to buy things so that you have something to review on your blog?
At the moment, in the time I have been writing on this blog, I haven't had any problems with not having anything to post, but on my old blog, I ran out of nail polish to review, which lead to me spending a great deal of money, and I now have a mass of unwanted polishes...Blog Sale anyone?

4. Has the style of your posts/blog been influenced by someone else. If so, who?
I love Megan at www.thebeautypier.blogspot.com 's blog, and I like to look at her blog for inspiration. The other main few contenders are I Covet Thee, Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, Wonderland Wardrobe, and one of the main ones is Lily Melrose (llymlrs and etcllymlrs). You should all know who they are! I love them all!

5. What are your favourite posts to plan and write about?
I really love planning collection posts, whether that be fashion, nail polish or makeup related, they are just so fun to write! I also love OOTD posts, putting outfits together is so theraputic!

6. Do you think that your knowledge of makeup (and applying it) has improved because of blogging?
Definitely! A year or two ago, you could hand me a highlighter and I wouldn't know where it would go! I feel like I learn more and more when I watch tutorials on youtube, and looks people have created on blogs!

7. Do you test all products for a certain amount of time before you review them?
Kind of!? I won't test all products for the same amount of time, I just wait until I feel like I can write a good wad of honest text about a product.

8. Do you have any other websites for your blog? (e.g, twitter, youtube, bloglovin', or a facebook page etc.)
I have Twitter, Bloglovin' and Youtube! No facebook page yet, maybe one day?! I find that using other sites will get your blog more noticed after time.

9. Do you feel the need to buy something you have wanted EVEN more when you see your favourite blogger talking about it?
Definitely! If someone says something good about it, I will be in the shop, at that till, spending my pennies on whatever that product may be. I havent done it for a while, as I have tried not to set my eyes on anything, as I am on a spending ban..:(

10. Do you find taking pictures to be a chore, or not?
Most certainly not! Taking the pictures for my posts is one of my favourite things to do, I take way more than needed because I am having such a good time haha! I suppose the picture taking would be a chore if you had a bad camera and you weren't getting as many good pictures.

Onto Who I TAG!
*You don't have to do this, but it would be nice for a comment and possibly a follow if I do tag you, but no pressure there. You can also do this TAG if i havent tagged you already*

I hope you guys enjoy this TAG, and let me know if you do it or follow!

Cute DIY | Money Savings Jar

Sunday, 21 April 2013

So, me and Megan spent some time together yesterday, and we discussed that we were going to be going shopping for her birthday in June, so we kind of need to start saving. I had seen it before on instagram and things, but Megan said we should made a savings pot out of an old jam jar and decorate it.
It was so much fun to make, and so theraputic!

We used all sorts of things, fabric, nail polish, paper, pens and other things, and I am really pleased with how my saving pot turned out!
I think it looks very vintage and crafty, and the money is adding up nicely, after looking in purses for change, using all my pennies, and finding an odd note or two. I am going to try and make sure that once the money goes into the pot, it doesn't come out again.

I had a lot of fun making this, let me know inf you are going to make one yourself! If I ever need to save for anything again, I will definitely be makeing more of these, and maybe I will just make one that I put a few coins in everyday for a few months and then treat myself!

OOTD | Casual with Coral Skirt

Saturday, 20 April 2013

Hi guys!
So this OOTD wasnt actually todays outfit, but one from last weekend. But I thought I woul;d show you it anyways, as I really love this outfit, and I had the pictures to share with you.
I went on a small bike ride with my family, and I felt really good wearing this outfit, as un-practical as it may be for this.

The ring is from Primark, for £1 in the sale, and I thought the neon yellow somehow complimented the coral skirt.

The skirt is from Primark and cost £8. I really, really love this skirt, and I will be taking it on holiday with me in May and wearing it a lot. It is the colour that seals the deal for me, I love coral, and this skirt is perfect.

The top is from Topshop, and I am not sure whether you can buy it anymore, as it was purchased around Christmas for £18, but it's worth the look, the quality is excellent! The necklace was purchased many years ago from a jewellery stand in Boots. I just re-discovered it.

The shoes have been featured in many OOTD posts, from Primark, for around £6 in the sale. I love them, although I have a lipstick stain on them from an accident in superdrug. Thanks for that MUA Power Pout.

So, what do you think of this post? Do you like the outfit?
Also, let me know what your favourite outfit is for the season!

Pore Cleaning Saviour - Nads Nose Wax?!

Friday, 19 April 2013

Hi guys!
Today, I am posting something I wouldn't normally blog about, or even try to be honest. At a glance, you will look at this product and think 'nose wax? my nose hair isn't even that bad?' - I know I did too. But when you look further into this product, you will notice that it can be used to clean the pores like a blackhead pore strip.
All you have to do it heat the wax in the microwave, and apply to your nose area, and peel off in about 30
seconds. It really does the job!

So, I don't know what the 'moustache stencils' are for, but I am guessing that they are for men when the want to wax their tash in a certain shape? I don't need them, I'm not male, and they are at the bottom of the box. But for blackheads and pore cleansing, this has become a fortnightly regime, thats all you need. It is a bit of a faff to try and heat things up, go and apply it, make sure you take it off beofre it goes hard and shatters, but it really does the job and it doesn't cause any irritation to my skin.
Have you tried anything like this? Let me know in the conmments!

Eye Candy London (Fizzy Friday) | Swatches and Review

Thursday, 18 April 2013

Hi everyone!
I have a small but growing collection of Eye Candy polishes, and they welcome any new comers with open arms. I only have 3 at the moment, but I don't doubt that it will grow soon.
Fizzy Friday* is lovely, a perfect colour for your fingers and toes in the spring and summer. It is a very pink/coral toned vibrant orange, with no shimmer in it. I love it! The lasting power isn't as great as some other polishes, but it holds up for a good 2-3 days. Don't worry, I'm not comparing this to a Shellac Manicure, I would just like it to last a little longer. Other than that, it's great!
2-3 coats in Natural Light
This is such a pretty polish! In real life, it is a little more pink toned. I am fairly sure Zoella280390/Zoe would  absolutely love this, I know how she adores her oranges!
These polishes are available for £6 in Sainsbury's stores Nationwide.
Do you own any Eye Candy London nail polishes? Let me know in the comments!

Spring NOTD | Pastel with Stripes

Wednesday, 17 April 2013

Hi everyone!
So, if you live in the UK, you may know that the weather is getting a little better now *touch wood*, so I was in the spring spirit the other day, when I painted my nails like this. It is really simple to do, and I only needed a few products; it literally took no time.
All I used was; Barry M Topcoat/Basecoat/Nail Hardener, Revlon Cloud (Which I am almost ran out off, because 6 months ago, I had an obsession with watermarbling, and it took about 7 tries for each nail. Note to self; dont use your favourite nail polish!), and A Rio Nail Art White Striper Polish.
The finished product

I am really pleased with how this turned out in the end, and I will be painting my nails like this a lot more with other pastel colours throughout spring. If you would like to see more posts and possibly picture tutorials on my blog, let me know in the comments!

What is your favourite nail art/colour trend for the moment? I would really like to know!

H&M Spring Flowers Blush | Swatches and Review

Monday, 15 April 2013

Hi guys! So, as you may have seen in my recent haul, I bought this incredible blush from H&M. I had to review it because it is so beautiful! It is presented in the prettiest way, flowers of all different colours. I am really into corals and bright blushes for Spring and Summer, and I have been wearing this nearly every day since I bought it! It was only £2.99 as well so I think that is a bargain!
Yummy. Not in an edible way?

Swatched. I swirled my finger around the pan.
If you are thinking...Woah?! Excess packaging!? The blush pan flips up and you are greeted by a mirror and a brush! Pretty nifty I think!

Weekend Shopping #4 | Beauty/Makeup

Sunday, 14 April 2013

Hi guys! Another weekend, another haul.

I went shopping yesterday, and picked up some really amazing beauty things, so I thought I would have to show you them!
Firstly, may I just say, H&M has really stepped up their game in their beauty section. I nearly bought it all. They have nail art, perfume, a shed load of makeup (which all looks incredible), and other things that I nearly bought too!

So I bought this beautiful product, the Spring Flowers blush, which is presented so nicely, for only £2.99 - Bargain or what?!

SO PRETTY!
The next thing I bought is one of the new releases from MUA. It is their 'Power Pout' Lip Tint/Stain sticks, in the shade Justify. These are similar to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, but for £3. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but if I can find a cheaper alternative, I will!
I've gone a bit coral in this shopping trip?!
The final things I picked up were from a Poundshop. What?! Yep, a Poundshop. They are the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks, colours that have been discontinued. One of them, I don't like so much (Fancy), but you have to take a gamble in the poundstores because you can't swatch or open anything.
L-R, Oxford Street Fuchsia, Fancy, Sweetheart Tulips
For £3 for all 3, that is still half the price that 1 would cost in the drugstore! I really like these lipsticks, not so fond of the fancy one, but the others are great!

Have you done any shopping this weekend?
Don't forget, you can enter my CLEARASIL GIVEAWAY HERE - run, run and do it now! It's really quick :)
