BATH AND BODY WORKS POCKETBAC

Tuesday, 11 November 2014

I has a bit of an obsession with hand gel about half a year ago, and to be fair I kind of got bored with my endless stock of Cuticura Passion Flower and Mango. When I was in Bath & Body works I was overwhelmed with the vast selection of fragrances of their PocketBac and I couldn't resist picking up a few.

My personal favourite is Island Margarita, it smells incredible and fresh. I don't actually know what Margarita's smell like, but, it is what I imagine. Fresh, clean and subtly zesty and tangy. Sweet Pea is basically (as the names suggests) a very sweet fruity-floral scent. Caribbean Escape smells fresh but also with a hint of coconut - the typical holiday scent in a hand gel.

The reason I like these so much is that they keep you germ free but don't smell too chemical like other bog standard hand gels, they smell divine so I basically slap these on as regularly as I can. I wish I had got more if I knew they'd be so darn good, I probably would have ended up with drawers full.

A BEAUTY BLOGGER'S BEST FRIENDS

Thursday, 20 March 2014

A little less of the pretty products in today's post, and I'm putting a little more focus on the basics - the things we all use and own but don't actually talk about. It's about time to give them some loving.

The first is a compact mirror. Okay, I'll admit, this No7 one actually looks rather nice (and comes with a protective pouch too), but I do have another from Poundland which I use as well. Another thing is Bobby Pins/Hair Grips and hair bands. These are the guys that help you out on a windy day when your hair is in your face, and we really should appreciate them handing around in the bottom of our bags more often.

Nail Wheels. I bought mine in bulk from Amazon, coming in at a couple of pounds for some clear ones and some cream ones. Whether you have bought a new polish and want to test out the consistency and colour when your nails are already painted, or for swatches in blog posts - they really are helpful.

Hand gel is a must, and I love the Cuticura Passion Flower and Mango Gel which smells good and leaves your hands feeling clean. I like to use this once before and after I do my makeup to remove any dirt or excess, or if any of you use public transport, this may be a good one for you.

I went through packets of the Kleenex Blotting Sheets like water in the summer, as I was blotting my face when I was hot, as well as handing them out to friends so that they could blot their faces too. I have a stash of 6 packs of these so I will certainly not be running low anytime soon, but they are hard to find at times so I guess I'm in luck at the desperate times.

Finally, eye drops. A lot of people are scared of using them, as was I, but once I got contact lenses and they totally dried my eyes out, I had no choice but to use eye drops otherwise my lenses would be too drying for me to wear. I use either the Blink ones or the Optrex ones that are suitable for contacts.

What are your unheard of beauty essentials?

CUTICURA PASSION FLOWER AND MANGO HAND GEL

Saturday, 19 October 2013

If you are a beauty-junkie like myself, you want your hands to be clean the most of times, either if you are about to put on makeup with your hands, or if you have been sticking your pointers in the Boots testers, or maybe you have just jumped off the tube. The world is a grubby place, and your best bet is a hand gel for on the go.

First things first, the bottle is huge! I really liked the Soap and Glory one, but I can't bear to pay £2.50 for 50ml or product! This one costs £1.55 for 100ml, and is often on offer, so even better!

As for the smell, is is divine. Even better is that it actually lasts for a good amount of time on the hands. It is so fruity, and has a slight perfume scent masked underneath, and it is just a clean, fresh scent which I would probably happily buy as a fragrance.
It sinks in within a matter of seconds, and doesn't feel drying at all on the skin. Super quick for on the go, and this spends most of its life in my bag, for any situations. I have been passing it round the family after a snack, or if someone sneezes, this jumps out.

I think this will be getting a repurchase until something better pops up, but that doesn't look like it will anytime soon. Saying that, if I go to America, Bath&Body Works will be getting a stop to pick up some mini sanitizers.
