SUNGLASSES OF THE YEAR

Sunday, 5 June 2016

Topshop Waverly Wayfairer Sunglasses - £14

Usually, Primark sunglasses get me through the summer months mainly because I can't bare to spend more than £3 on a pair of sunnies that I'll probably leave in my bag to get scratched, lose, or even sit on and crush (talking from actual experience for that one). But, this year I happened to be looking in Topshop and fell in love with a frame I couldn't leave behind.

I can't find the exact pair online but they are the Waverly Wayfairer frame style and there's a couple of other 'prints' if you will. I didn't think £14 was bad at all, and the fit of these is perfect. I have quite a slim face so I tend to get swamped by glasses but these are perfect. I had a pair similar last year but all black - this time I opted for still a black pair but they have a faint floral/palm print within the frame too which just adds an extra touch.

To be quite honest, I've even been eyeing up another pair in this style online but I'm not sure I can allow myself to make the purchase, considering these are so loved anyway. I genuinely don't think it is possible for me to fall out of love with these, because they literally work with every item of clothing in my wardrobe. Never a complaint.

I've found a similar pair here, just with a thinner frame, but to be honest I prefer these. Have a browse of the Waverly Wayfairer style and let me know your opinion.

NICKI MINAJ ONIKA PERFUME

Sunday, 18 January 2015

After Christmas, when hitting the sales I spotted the Nicki Minaj Onika EDP Gift Set, for a mere £12.50, and couldn't resist it, despite not ever having this perfume on my wishlist before. It was a new release in September this year, and to be honest, the 5ml rollerball was what made me decide to buy this, due to them being so uncommon in the UK.

The packaging (although not to everyone's taste) is something I really love about this fragrance - a simple black and gold bust and head of Nicki herself (or Onika) and this has a proud spot on my wall shelf simply because I love looking at it.

I think this might win the spot of one of my favourite scents now, and I've been reaching for it nearly every day. It's quite sweet, fruity and floral, but the sheer musky notes tie it all together. Nicki herself actually said this scent was designed to promote confidence, due to her sharing her birth name in the title. I've had so many compliments wearing this perfume, and the scent stays around for at least 6 hours on me, which is amazing for such an affordable scent.

I think when this runs out I might be tempted to repurchase as I love it so much - you will probably catch my sniffing my wrists at any given time in the day...

SIMPLE BASICS, STATEMENT SHIRT

Sunday, 20 July 2014

 OVERSIZED SHIRT: PRIMARK £12
SHORTS: H&M £5 (SALE)
VEST TOP: PRIMARK £2
SHOES: NEW LOOK £19.99
WATCH: JULES AND JAMES
SUNGLASSES: PRIMARK £1

I have wanted a kimono for a long time now but since I have been seeing a lot of people wearing them around now I thought I would leave it for a while until I saw a really high fashion looking one. That was until I spotted this oversized shirt in Primark that I thought paired with jeans and a black crop top or as pictured above. I rolled the sleeves up to make it look less like a shirt and more like a layering item.

I genuinely love this shirt and looks like it is worth so much more than I payed and I think styled right you would never guess that it was a Primark purchase. This could be love... and a new wardrobe essential.

HERBAL ESSENCES GOES BACK TO BASICS

Saturday, 11 January 2014

I'm all about the drugstore/high street when it comes to shampoo and conditioner, as much as I do lust after the Bumble and Bumble Surf Range I can't quite justify, and neither can my purse frankly.

Herbal Essences have recently taken a little bit of a 'back to its roots' path (excuse the pun), and I am feeling it. Cute, vintage looking packaging, with a floral background which you can see among the pink shampoo and through the plastic - it's the little things with me.

But, I thought I would give them a go. Basically they have bought back 2 of their earlier range duos of shampoo and conditioner from around 5 years ago, and I cannot wait to give them a try. The scents they have released ditch the fruity scents the brand normally go for, and instead, have taken a more floral, fresh route, but still isn't too overpowering.

Although I haven't used these on my hair yet, I am certainly excited to do so, and maybe I will report back on how well they did.
