MY RECENT BARGAINS

Monday, 28 October 2013

It would appear that I have been doing some shopping recently, but haven't managed to pay full price for anything you see in the image above. That makes the hauling sound a little better...right?

Starting off with skin, I purchased 2 items. The first being the Dr Jart+ Water Sure Gel, a hyaluronic acid based gel which locks in moisture, hence why I use it under moisturisers daily. Basically Hydraluron in a tub, and this cost me £6.50 a month back in a Boots clearance, unusually reduced from the £26.00 they still charge on the website.
Secondly, I picked up the Garnier Moisture Match Wake Me Up Gel Moisturiser, which I have wanted for a while now, and what better than when it is over half off at £2.37 in Tesco - brilliant. Look forward in the next few weeks of what is ruling the skincare shelf, and you may see one, or both of these featured.

Onto nails, I accidentally stumbled into TkMaxx, and found a pack of 3 OPI Nail Polishes for £6.99 - What?! I couldn't not pick this pack up, as it was almost half the price of one, for all three. I got A Roll In The Hague, which is a vibrant, slightly red orange, I Don't Give A Rottadam, a dusty, periwinkle with some iridescent, leaning on holographic glitter - and both of these are from the Holland Collection. The other, is called Stranger Tides, a slightly dusty, murky, pale greenish, nudish, hybrid, which belongs in the Caribbean Collection I believe.

Back to makeup. In tesco, on the same trip, I managed to find myself a wee bargain, when spotting this Maybelline Eyestudio Mono in 750 Chocolate Chic, which I thought was matte at first, but in depth, this is a slightly reddy, plummy, dark brown, which is matte in the 'base', but then it has some larger, sparse amounts of iridescent shimmer, and still looks smashing in the crease. This was reduced to 79p, as I think they were decreasing the stand.

For the same reasons, I found a Maybelline ColorSensational Lip Marker in Wink Of Pink on a whim as it was £1.49, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I don't know whether it has dried already, or the colour payoff or maybe it isn't as pigmented as I remembered on the first use.

Finally, on Saturday, I was waltzing round Boots, as you do, and in a clearance, I found the Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in 040 Crystal Water, which I have wanted for so long, and the sticker said £3.50, which I thought was a good deal anyway, but as the lady scanned it through, it came to £1.50 - what a bargain!

So, a bit of a long one for me, but this haul should have cost a total of £86.06, but instead, I paid... £19.64, and something tells me that is a great deal...

Cute DIY | Money Savings Jar

Sunday, 21 April 2013

So, me and Megan spent some time together yesterday, and we discussed that we were going to be going shopping for her birthday in June, so we kind of need to start saving. I had seen it before on instagram and things, but Megan said we should made a savings pot out of an old jam jar and decorate it.
It was so much fun to make, and so theraputic!

We used all sorts of things, fabric, nail polish, paper, pens and other things, and I am really pleased with how my saving pot turned out!
I think it looks very vintage and crafty, and the money is adding up nicely, after looking in purses for change, using all my pennies, and finding an odd note or two. I am going to try and make sure that once the money goes into the pot, it doesn't come out again.

I had a lot of fun making this, let me know inf you are going to make one yourself! If I ever need to save for anything again, I will definitely be makeing more of these, and maybe I will just make one that I put a few coins in everyday for a few months and then treat myself!

Weekend Shop #3 | Beauty, Jewellery and Shoes

Monday, 8 April 2013

Hi everyone! So at the weekend I went shopping, as per usual, and I was going to post this at the weekend but I went off at a tangent and decided to post about 4 posts at the weekend, so I thought I would spare you of one, but here it is now! By the way, there are quite a few pictures, I had a little bit of a splurge, although the price of less than £15 for the lot is pretty good if you ask me!
Bourjois Paris Pencil Sharpener £2.49
So, I got this in Boots, as the next two products require a decent pencil sharpener. This one seems to be pretty good quality by looking at it, but I haven't tried it yet. The next 2 products and this were in a 3 for 2 at boots so that worked out well!
Bourjois Smokey Effet Pencil in Smokey Graphite 50p in Boots Clearance
This looked quite cool, so I grabbed it as there was only one or two sitting there in the little acrylic box of clearance items, and the price was too good to say no to. It might be quite nice on the lower lashline.

Barry M Eyeshadow Pencil £1.00 in Boots Clearance
This looks all scary and white in the pencil form, but when it is on the skin or swatched, it is a stunning champagne colour. I thought it may look nice all over the lid or in the inner corner.
Allura Beauty Stamping Kit £1 in Poundland

Wow, stamping sets in Poundland, woop woop! Well, I found using it a little difficult, but for a pound, it is a good thing to try if you want to get into stamping and can't afford the likes of Konad and things.
Nivea Soft Rosé lip balm, £1 in Poundland
I use Nivea Lipbalms religiously, so when I spotted this little one in poundland, I bought it right away! It smells really good too, so that is also a good thing! Haha.
Nspa Bathing Rituals Glamour Set - £2.50 in Asda
Wow, this was a bargain! I used this today, and it smells lovely! The lipgloss probably won't be all that good, but it was mainly the two shower products, and for £2.50 you can't really pass it up!
Sale Matalan Leaf Ring - £1.50/£1.35 w/ 10% off voucher, originally £3.50.
This ring looks really pretty on my finger, I think it elongates them and makes me look all nice and put together. Yep, just rambled about fingers, yay. For the bargainous price I couldn't leave it there, so it ended up in my shopping bag.
Matalan Pumps £6 each or two for £8
2 for £8 is not bad at all for these shoes. I got a pair and so did my sister, so that was £4 a pair. That is great, especially because these are so comfortable! I will be taking these on holiday with me in May, and I will get a lot of wear out of them I think!
Matalan Pumps again.
The pattern is really cute as well!
Have you bought anything this weekend? I certainly have ahah! Though I don't feel full-filled as I have just heard about some cool new MUA things, and I would like to buy them... :)

Weekend Shop #2 - Clothing

Monday, 1 April 2013

Hi everyone! Do you like my new logo? Let me know in the comments, I am pretty proud of it! :)
So, as most people who know me will already have guessed, I have a wee bit of an addiction to shopping. That addiction grew again this weekend, and I thought I would show you what I got! There will be a fair few pictures in the post, so beware! :)
Shorts - £5 Primark
So in May, me and my family are going on holiday to Cyprus, which I am so so so excited about, and that is what the main part of these things are for. I thought I would clear that up as it's been snowing here in the UK recently and I have just done a 'holiday shop'. I really like the colour of these shorts, they are so cute! :)
Elephant Print Long Sleeve Blouse - £12 from Primark
Detailing of the elephants and collar.
Ok. Just sit for a minute and process the cuteness of this blouse. I have a little obsession with blouses, and this one had little elephants on it so it was in my basket. I don't know why I was so excited about the elephants really, they aren't my favourite animal or anything like that so I'm not quite sure why I jumped on it in the shop.?!

Orange Beach Cover Up Dress - £4 in Primark
This is just one of my essential things for on holiday, just if you are by the pool or beach and you just want a little more covered up, these are great! And for £4 you can't go wrong plus they had loads of colours as well!
Flip Flops - £1 Primark Size 5-6
Well, all I can say about these is 'Bargainous'. £1, £1!!!! I know, I know, they wont last forever, but I will probably pick up a couple of other pairs (there is a selection of about 20!) and they will last me for at least the holiday, probably longer too, not that I will need them here in England any time soon..
Batiste Rich and Elegant Dry Shampoo - £1.45 half price in Superdrug
I know, not clothing, but this is new and I thought I would share it with you. It smells so nice! It's like a perfume kind of smell, but it has a hidden fruity-sweet scent as well, so it isn't over powering at all, and I just love it!
So, that is everything I got this weekend! I am really happy with my purchases, but I think I am going to go shopping again next weekend, so let me know if you would like to see a haul if I buy anything! :)

Mini Weekend Shopping Haul

Sunday, 31 March 2013

Hi everyone! I have done a bit of shopping this weekend, and I thought I would share with you what I got as I got a couple of bargains!
MMM Shopping Things :)
I firstly went into Superdrug and got 2 things. The first being the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair. This is my holy grail concealer, and I needed to repurchase it, as the one I have at the moment is shade 2 which is the slightest bit dark for me, as that was the only one in stock last time. This was reduced from £4.19 to £3.69 on offer.
I then went on to buy the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser as it was half price to £2.99 instead of £5.99. This has been out of stock for weeks in my local Superdrug so when I went out with family to a further shopping centre, I found it and couldn’t leave it there. You also get the muslin cloth with it, which gently exfoliates the skin. This smells great too!

I went to Lush and picked up the all famous Happy Hippy Shower Gel for £3.25 as I haven’t owned it before, but tried it and loved it. The smell is so fresh and I can’t believe I hadn’t bought it sooner! I did go to purchase this before Christmas but the price was £4.25 which I wasn’t prepared to pay for 100g of product, but it’s back to normal now and was in my basket in a flash!
Finally I went to the Body Shop, as I spotted that they had a sale on over a few products. One of them being the Sweet Lemon Shower Gel, which was £2 instead of £5, so I picked it up as there were only 2 left. I know, I know, buying 2 shower gels in one trip may be a little excessive, but one was on sale, and the other was in a store that isn’t anywhere near me, so I have an excuse…haha.
So overall I made a total saving of: £6.50! Not bad in my opinion!

I'll be back soon/weekend shopping.

Saturday, 23 March 2013

So as you all probably know, I am internetless and have been for almost a week. I think im having withdrawl symptoms at the moment...
So how am I writing this post? I'm sitting on my bed, getting incredibly stressed as i try and type this posts on my phone thats trying to squeeze out internet roaming data megabytes and working at about 1 mile an hour.
The good news is that i should have comfortable internet access by monday/tuesday at the very latest. Never again will I agree to an internet switchover.
In the meantime, i am going to go shopping tomorrow and I will try and do a mini haul when I have internet. Other than that I am also spending my weekend writing numerous blog posts on Word so I can bombard you with many posts! :-)
I'm really sorry about this guys. Its a shame that i have just created this blog and already I am having to have a weeks break from it because of someone elses problem.
Once again i am sorry and I hope you understand what is happening.
Let me know in the comments what you would like to see when I can post :-)
Now i need to care for my thumbs after 10-15 minutes typing my mind on this tiny touchscreen and now I realise that on a computer this is going to look feeble..

Dainty Doll Concealer - Abracadabra (003)

Friday, 8 March 2013

Hi everyone. My oh-so-kind bestfriend was nice enough to give me this concealer, as she ordered it for me after spotting the biggest bargain on Fragrance Direct, check it out! I'm hoping to order in a week or so, lets hope not everything is out of stock haha!
They are selling Dainty Doll products (by Nicola Roberts) for less than £3! The majority is £1.99 but there are a couple of items that give or take on this amount.
This concealer has a slight cream to powder finish, so it's lovely if you have a slightly oily skin.
This is the shade 003, and when it came it was literally orange (as you may see slightly below), as I think that the cream to powder had made it oxidize, but with a bit of rubbing it has reached the colour of my skintone.
Product Shot of the slightly oversized box and the actual concealer. It looks expensive!
Another Product Shot. £1.99
Still looks a little orange. I didn't want to rub it too much as I wanted a good picture! :)
This is a really nice product. It is pretty thick and the coverage is slightly better than average. It doesn't live up to me holy grail Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, but it does it's job!
Are you planning on trying out any Dainty Doll products. Check in your local tkmaxx too, I have heard that some items are popping up in there!
Thanks for reading, I would love for you to comment and some followers would be lovely too, hehe :)

ELF Cosmetics Haul

Wednesday, 6 March 2013

HI everyone! The other week me and Megan took advantage of the BOGOF offer on ELF Cosmetics. We each got some lovely things and I wanted to briefly show you the things I purchased. I was going to post induvidual posts on these things, but let me know if you would like to see more detailed posts after reading this with some swatches too?
(This post is a little picture heavy, but everyone loves a good product shot!
Product Shot of the 5 items I purchased. Lovely!
So there are the 5 things I bought. So now onto the induvidual pics of everything I got in more detail!
By the way? How do feel about my pictures being larger? Do you still think the quality is OK? I was inspired to make mine larger after seeing how great Megan's posts looked with larger images!
Studio Conditioning Lip Balm SPF 15 £3.75 in the shade Mellow Melon
So, the first thing that made me lust after this product was the colour. I loved how summery it looked, but I knew that it would be wearable and sheer at the same time! The packaging is a little bit bulky, as the plastic around the sides is a little bit larger than needed. Kind of like the Maybelline Colour Tattoo packaging. Melon is a favourite fruit of mine so I guess the name enticed me in too.
Studio Single Eyeshadow £3.75 in the shade Pebble
So this is the next thing I bought. I knew I needed this as soon as I saw the product image, and then I googled some swatches, and I fell in love a little bit. It's a dark taupe/chocolatey colour, with a tiny bit of shimmer, but so little that it looks matte. I would say a satin finish is the best way to describe this little gem. Lasting power is pretty good, and the pigmentation is more than decent.
Studio Shimmer Palette £3.75
So this product looked pretty interesting when I was reading about it. It claimed that you could use this on your face, eyes, and lips, and I thought it would be handy to have such a versatile product in my collection. The texture is different to what I expected it to be, its very smooth to touch and feels very 'thin' but is still excellently pigmented.
Studio HD Blush £3.75 in the Shade Superstar.
I had seen these being blogged about for a while now and I really wanted to try one out. The lightest shade that I wanted was called 'headliner' but that was sold out, but considering there was an offer on it would be rude not to buy one to try! When I first opened this product, I was left with oil on my hand, but a good shake was the solution to this issue! I think this blush will be a staple in my collection this season!
Studio Pressed Powder £3.75 in the shade Porcelain
This product was a little bit deceiving. This powder is the lightest shade, but in real life it's quite dark! Translucent powder please elf?
This powder has a wee bit of coverage, an I admit it does mattify the areas it is applied to for the majority of the day. It comes with a sponge applicator, but I am not a huge fan of them, so I stick to using it with a powder brush.

So that was everything I got in this 'mini' haul from ELF. This offer isn't on anymore, but sign up for the emails and you will be notified when there are other great offers for you!
Thanks for reading, come again soon!

Topshop Wishlist #1

Tuesday, 5 March 2013

Hi there! Today is a wishlist post, of entirely Topshop pieces. It seems that I have a little outfit going on in this wishlist, and it makes me sad knowing that there is no way on earth that I can afford to buy these things...but a girl can dream! :) Everything is linked below to the Topshop website if you want some more info on anything! :)
1. ACCOMPLICE Double Zip Boots £65.00 - I have been wanting some cute little ankle boots for a while now, after seeing many of Zoellas vlogs and thought that they looked wonderful on her, and I saw these and thought that they were perfect, and I love the studded detail at the back!

2. Petite Collar Tip Dog Shirt £34.00 - Ok, so recently I have been obsessed with two things; one being flowy sheer shirts, and the other being anything with animals printed onto it. This little gem carries both of those things. Loose fitting and cool to wear when it *hopefully* warms up soon here in the UK! I can't really say much more...I'm in love.

3. Bow Stud Cuff £8.50 - I thought his lovely little bracelet is perfect for Spring in my eyes, I think it would match with anything and everything. I love the cold detailing, and I think the cream
leathery type material really compliments this. Not such a bad price for a statement wardrobe piece like this!

4. Medium Flat Chain Bowling Bag £35.00 - Ok, get on my arm...like everyday. I love this bag; the style, the colour, the size, and if the colour isn't your number 1 choice, it's also available in black, but I just thought that this would be a nice pastel bag for Spring, and will match with plenty of outfits.

5. Petite Structured Blazer £50.00 - This blazer looks so easy to throw on over any outfit this season, possibly with a blouse, or a pretty lace dress. I saw that Zoella was wearing this in a DailyMix video (see how much of an influence youtubers and bloggers have on my wardrobe choices!), and it looked stunning on her and somehow it magically crawled its way onto my wishlist!

6. Pale Grey Petite MOTO Skinny Leigh Jeans £38.00 - I have been eyeing up the famous leigh jeans for a while now, and I thought these grey ones would be a softer colour to wear this season, rather than your navy or your black pairs. They look so flattering, and so comfortable to wear! I think leigh jeans will be on my wihslist for a long time..:)

So that was my first wishlist post! Did you enjoy reading it? Let me know of the items you have been lusting over recently!
I'm popping to the shops later on, into Primark and some other places. Let me know below if you wouls like me to post a little 'haul' later on of anything I picked up! :)
Thanks for reading,
Lauren x
